Russian Artist Creates Stunningly Realistic Doll Faces

Most people don’t try to make dolls themselves. Most people aren’t Michael Zajkov. This Russian doll maker makes extremely realistic dolls dressed in period garments. The faces are so natural, they cross over the uncanny valley and look deceptively life-like in pictures.

Zajkov is a graduate from Kuban State University of Russia. From to 2010 to 2013 he worked making puppets for a theatre while also attending a graduate school. He was first brought to worldwide attention in 2013, when he presented five of his creations at the “Art Dolls” expo in Moscow. Zajkov uses French mohair for his creations’ hair, and hand painted glass eyes from Germany.

A ‘Glowing’ Blanket Of Fog Just Descended On Dubai

These absolutely stunning photographs show the city of Dubai under a blanket of fog, beautifully illuminated by the lights from the traffic below.

With 7 out of 10 of the world’s tallest skyscrapers, and almost 25% of the world’s cranes, Dubai isn’t usually the most visually-pleasing city to look at.

Zohaib Anjum climbed to the 94th floor of the Princess Tower in Dubai, just as dawn was breaking, to take the photos – allowing him to look down upon the city with only its skyscrapers visible.

He took the photos between 4 am and 7 am earlier this month, while the sun was rising and traffic started to build up on the streets below.

‘Seeing the city engulfed in all the fog was surreal and such a serene setting’ said Zohaib, who is 29-years-old.

‘It looked like the fog was running around the towers and it was cool to see how the traffic and street lights illuminated patches so you could see where the roads were laid out,’ he said.

Smoking Kids: Photographer Frieke Janssens' Disturbing Exhibition Questions Youth Culture

With their impeccable retro styling, the kids in Frieke Janssens' "Smoking Kids" photos look like they could be lighting up with Marlene Dietrich or Don Draper. But don't worry: Instead of real tobacco, Janssens handed her young models chalk, cheese sticks, and incense. Digital magic did the rest to capture the ugliness and the not-quite-bygone glamour of lighting up.

Guy Lets His Artist Wife Doodle His Nissan Skyline

One guy teamed up with his artist wife to transform their Nissan Skyline GTR sports car into a one-of-a-kind work of art.
The owner, who is a car enthusiast and a member of the U.S. Military, hated the silver color of the car so, together with his highly artistic wife, he decided to tune it up a bit. While he worked on the car’s insides, she started doodling on a few scratches on the bumper. 100 hours of work later, this became a wonderfully intricate piece of art covering the whole car.
